Amazing, Wonderful, Fantastic, Great, Exquisite etc.
Got to wonder around Budapest tonight and the place is just unbelievable. The hostel is a block back from the river and it is just lined with Architectural gems! Everything was lit up so I was one very happy camper. The styles are so different yet all seem to work together. I can't believe that I've stumbled into this place and is quickly racing up the list of 'must see' places.
Didn't really take too many photos tonight as just admiring the structures but here is one and obviously watch this space over the coming days.

Hi Matt, Im so pleased that you are in Budapest. That is the town in which I was born.
I loved the photo with the palace in the background. You must go in to see it. It was completely bombed out during the 2nd world war, but restored with no expense spared.{Tough luck for all the Hungarians with inadequate housing, lack of most basic needs, buildings still pockmarked from the war and the 1956 revolution}, but the palace is a gorgeous museum at least.
When you go up there, visit the Fisherman's Bastion, which is a 19th century bit of indulgence in gothic fantasy. It may inspire you!
Also, nearby is St.Stephen's church, inside, it is just beautiful.Decorated with gorgeous designs all over the walls.Another bit of inspiration.
In Hungarian, "yes" is "igen". Pronounced just as it is written, "no" is "nem",with the e sounding like e in egg.
The Hungarian language pronounces each syllble very clearly, unlike English, where we tend to squash our vowels, and squeeze syllables together.
Love your sketches, the pencil sketch of David is a beauty.
I hope you enjoy the food in Hungary, when I was there, I put on an incredible amount of weight.
The cakes are to die for! Hungarian for cake is "torta".
Have fun, I look forward to more news from Budapest.
Buda is the part of the city on the hills where the palace is, and Pest is the commercial area on the flat side of the Danube.
But you would know that by now.
Bye, and hello are both the same word "servus".
Hungarian is crazy.
Good luck , Judy
