Amsterdam Summary

Last city in continental Europe. I must say I didn't really enjoy Amsterdam that much. It reminded me very much of a Niagara Falls in that the things to see and do are overpriced and lacking content (at least Nigara Falls has an amazing water fall to look at). Most other people I spoke with, felt the same way. Apart from the Anne Frank House, most places people said were ok but not really worthwhile (ie cannabis museum, Heinikien Experience, Wax museum etc).

I think however if you are a pot head, this is the place for you. I also think that is why people rave about it. It has that kiddish air to it, like when you are under age and manage to sneak into a pub - a certain cheap 'thrill' factor. Much the same here, 'oooh we can go, buy and smoke pot legally '.

Probably didn't help that the hostel was something everyone raved about ... probably by the potheads. The location was great but there wasn't anywhere you could go where people weren't smoking and it was really over priced for what it was. The city was interesting for what it was but you only really need a day to check out a couple of the key buildings and that is it.
